Town Council Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00pm.

If you wish to present to Council or have a matter to be raised at the meeting, you should advise the Town Manager on the Thursday before the meeting.

The Tenth Elected North West River Town Council is made up of 7 members elected at large from the community. The Council then elects a Mayor and Deputy Mayor from its number.

The Tenth Council was elected by acclamation in September, 2009. A by-election was held in September 2010 to fill one seat after the resignation of Mayor Ernie McLean. Lowell Barkman was elected from a field of two candidates.

Mayor Desmond Montague and Deputy Mayor Desmond Chaulk resigned in December 2010. A by-election to fill these council seats was held February 9th, 2011, with Kevin Gear and Clarence McLean elected from a field of four candidates.

Clarence McLean and Waylon Williams resigned in February, 2011. A by-election was held March 30th, 2011, with Paul Cooper and Ralph Riche elected from a field of five candidates.
