Motorists in Labrador are advised that officials from the Department of Transportation and Works and the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment are monitoring water levels on Route 520 between Happy Valley-Goose Bay and North West River and Sheshatshiu, including water levels and ice conditions at the Goose River Bridge. The public can view the water levels at the Goose River Bridge at: www.mae.gov.nl.ca/wrmd/ADRS/v6/Template_Station.asp?station=NLENHM0001
There is currently no impact on highway infrastructure. Crews are on site and are ready to implement temporary safety measures as necessary.

Water levels have dropped two(2) inches since 9:00 am. it is being closely monitored and changes will be posted when available.

The ice has broken up and water is flowing better now, however the situation can change quickly. Please use caution.

Residents are advised that the water levels at the Goose River Bridge are high and road could be closed soon.
